Post graduate studies usually contain a number of courses obligatory to the selected specialisation. Which these courses are and how many HEC they cover is stated in the general study plan for the specialisation. The departmental courses are usually offered by the department hosting the specialisation.
In addition to the obligatory courses there might also be optional courses. These courses are selected freely by the PhD student in consultation with the supervisors. The courses can be taken in the home department or in another department. The courses can be courses for post graduate students, but also courses from lower levels can be taken into consideration.
When courses are selected, the student shall always consult the supervisor and state the course choice in the individual study plan.
